Do You Know…

  • Women with PAD have four times the risk of heart attack and stroke

  • Not only has one in four Women had a migraine, this form of headaches is three times more common in Women than Men

  • More Women die of COPD, despite being are more likely than Men to be non-smokers

  • Catamenial Epilepsy (exacerbations in the perimenstrual phase) occurs in 30-60% of Women

  • Women over age 75 are half as likely to receive Warfarin in new onset atrial fibrillation

  • Aspirin therapy decreases risk of MI in Men, while reducing stroke — but not MI — in Women

  • Women are 50% more likely to have adverse reactions to prescription medications than Men; Yet, prescribed doses are typically written without regard for sex

  • While thyroid diseases are more common in Women, Men are at greater risk for thyroid cancer
