Estimates of benefits and harms of prophylactic use of aspirin in the general population
In this fascinating study of available data in the Annals of Oncology journal, it was found that 10 years of regular low dose aspirin use was associated with a 7% reduction in the risk of cancer, MI, and stroke among women, and a 9% reduction in the risk of these events among men. The cancers prevented were: Colorectal, Esophageal, Gastric, Lung, Prostate and Breast. Fascinating study of available data.
